Story
Born of friendship, a love of great food, and the spirit of service
Their friendship formed almost a decade ago, but it would be a few years before Palmer Fortune and Chef JB Belechak would realize the dream of combining JB's southern culinary magic with Palmer's notion of relaxation and easy conversation in the seaside Village of St. Simon's.
From both men come a spirit of service, a passion for excellence, and the idea that life and food should be thoroughly enjoyed. That’s why everything from the amazing ground sausage to the famous tomato jam is crafted in-house daily from the freshest local and regional ingredients.
The service is friendly. You'll feel like a local from the moment you walk through the old wooden door.
Dress down or up. It’s all about the food and great company at Palmer’s.
The tiniest restaurant freezer in St. Simons Island.
No kidding. That's because at at Palmer's, Chef JB and his team prepare everything fresh, in-house daily from ingredients sourced locally, regionally, and in-season whenever possible.
Everyone's a local here.
It only take a few minutes at Palmer's before you realize you've come into a place with more than a few regulars from around the world. Our staff welcomes all with a spirit of hospitality and service unlike any on the island.
Take home some coastal culinary magic.
Pimento Cheese
Palmer's legendary Pimento Cheese comes from an original recipe and magical cheddar from cows that live charmed lives.
If you order it, you may end up skipping the rest of your meal and asking for all the crakers in St. Simon's. We get it. That's why it's now available for take out in 10-ounce servings.
Mary's Magical Chix Salad
Chef JB may have been on the culinary team for the G-8 Summit, but it's wife Mary that has the recipe for chicken salad that makes people feel like royalty. Her chicken salad features chunky chicken with sundried tomatoes, ricotta cheese, roasted red peppers and basil.
Tomato is our Jam
There's no argument here over whether not condiments qualify as food. You eat it. It's food. One bite of Palmer's tomato jam will make you wonder where it's been all your life. Country feel meets uptown flavor, and now you can take some some home. You're gonna need a bigger suitcase.
